Professional Griefers is a song by Canadian music producer Deadmau5 in collaboration with Gerard Way , the lead singer and founder of the alternative rock band My Chemical Romance . It was first released on August 24, 2012. It's the third single from Deadmau5's sixth studio album, Title Goes Here, and featured on the FIFA 13 soundtrack . Professional Griefers was previewed on Deadmau5 ' Ustream channel on February 13, 2011 , and the track was played live for the first time during the Meowingtons Hax tour.

Music video

The official music video for the song was first released on August 29, 2012 on the official Ultra Records YouTube channel .

In the music video, you initially see some people sitting in a trailer with the television switched on. This shows a fight between Deadmau5 ( deadmau5 ) and Gerard Way ( g3rard ). After the announcement of the fight is announced, Way and Zimmerman begin to sit down at a control desk and control two giant robots with mau5head . So they fight for a while. After a while, however, Way wins and Deadmau5 attacks him. They will be referred back to their places by the referee. Suddenly, a robot version of Deadmau5's cat Professor Meowingtons appears and bites through a cable so that Way can no longer control his robot. This is then defeated by Deadmau5 without resistance. However, while he is being declared the winner and celebrating, the robot cat will also jump into his robot and make him fall over. Then you only see the cat walking around in the rubble.

The music video, made by Jeff Ranasinghe and Paul Boyd, is currently the most expensive electronic song of all time. Over 2000 fans were hired for the shoot.

reception

The song received consistently positive reviews. Joe Robinson from diffuser.fm said that the instrumental version with its bass grooves was already very suitable for dancing, but Ways Vocals gave the song the bit mainstream that was needed. He awarded seven stars out of ten.

Bring the Noise's Caitlyn Dewar said that with a mix of creative lyrics, a talented Gerard Way and his own style, Deadmau5 would definitely remain "hot" and at the forefront of the dance scene and that it would be fans of My Chemical Romance , Skrillex or Daft Punk . It awarded nine stars out of ten.

An author from MusicHub awarded ten stars and thus full marks. Professional Griefers once again increased the hype about his new album as one of the great singles. The song becomes a hit "in no time at all".
