The Protonuraghe Scalas (also called Nuraghe Scalas) is located near Castiadas near the Costa Rei in the province of Sud Sardegna in Sardinia .

Remains of the Protonuraghe Scalas are found under the natural rocks about 200 m northeast of the Perda fitta of Is Calas. The rock outcrop is heavily overgrown and it is difficult to see the remains of the nuragic masonry.

Time position

The approximately 300 protonuraghi (also corridor or pseudonuraghi, Italian Nuraghe a corridoio ) of Sardinia originated during phase B of the two-phase Bonnanaro culture , which was the successor to the megalithic and Copper Age Monte Claro culture between 1800 and 1500 BC. Ruled.

Other well-preserved protonuraghi are Albucciu (near Arzachena ), Front'e Mola (near Thiesi ), Frenugarzu and Cubas (near Dualchi ) and Castrulongu (near Lodine ).
