Pseudoleskeella (German chain moss ) is a genus of deciduous mosses in the order Hypnales .

features

The small or very small plants form dense, lackluster lawns. The stems are prostrate to upright and branched irregularly or regularly, the leaves straight or sickle-shaped, broadly ovate to lanceolate, blunt to long, pointed, with entire margins or serrated at the tip. Lamina cells are diamond-shaped, smooth or papillary at the upper end of the cell; leaf cells are indistinguishable from the other leaf cells. The leaf vein is simple or forked, short or reaching to the tip of the leaf.

The species are diocesan . On the long seta is the egg-shaped to cylindrical, usually slightly curved capsule with a conical or short beaked lid.

Systematics

Pseudoleskeella was traditionally part of the Leskeaceae family . According to Frey / Fischer / Stech, the Pseudoleskeellaceae family (like the Pseudoleskeaceae family ) was split off from Leskeaceae on the basis of molecular data.

The genus Pseudoleskeella is the only one in the family Pseudoleskeellaceae.

species

There are 8 species worldwide that are distributed in the northern hemisphere and here predominantly in the arctic-alpine region.

Species found in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are:
