Pudhota Chinniah Balaswamy

Pudhota Chinniah Balaswamy (born October 10, 1928 in Valarpuram , British India , † September 24, 2009 in Chennai , Tamil Nadu , India ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Nellore .

Life

Balaswamy was ordained a priest on April 24, 1955 . On December 17, 1973 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Nellore . The Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore , Anthony Rayappa Arulappa , ordained him bishop on March 19 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Saminini Arulappa , Archbishop of Hyderabad , and Bala Shoury Thumma , Bishop Emeritus of Nellore.

On December 7, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement. He died on September 24, 2009 at the age of 80.

He was in close contact with the Schoenstatt Movement .
