Punilla is a town in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Punilla is the second largest town in the canton of Mamahuasi in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Sucre in the province of Oropeza . The village is located at an altitude of 3172  m east of the Cordillera de los Frailes, which runs from north to south .

Punilla lies east of the Altiplano in the Bolivian Cordillera Central . The climate is a moderate altitude climate and a typical time of day climate , in which the average temperature fluctuation is greater during the day than during the year.

From Sucre, the road leads past the city's airport in a north-westerly direction, and after 23 kilometers a dirt road branches off from Ruta 6 in a south-westerly direction near the village of Punilla and continues in a westerly direction to Potolo .
