The municipality of Sucre is a district in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Sucre is one of three municipalities in the province of Oropeza and includes its central area. It is bordered on the northwest by the municipality Poroma , on the west by the department of Potosi , the south by the municipality Yotala , in the southeast on the Yamparáez Province , in the northeast on the Jaime Zudáñez Province , and on the north by the department of Cochabamba .

The municipality extends between about 18 ° 43 'and 19 ° 10' south latitude and 65 ° 00 'and 65 ° 25' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 55 kilometers, from north to south up to 60 kilometers .

The municipality of Sucre is located in the central part of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east.
