The Municipio Yotala is a district in the Chuquisaca Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Yotala is one of three municipalities in the province of Oropeza and includes its southern area. It is bordered to the west and southwest by the Department of Potosí , to the east by the province of Yamparáez , and to the north by the municipality of Sucre .

The municipality stretches between about 19 ° 05 'and 19 ° 22' south latitude and 65 ° 08 'and 65 ° 24' west longitude, its extent from west to east is up to 20 kilometers, from north to south up to 25 kilometers .

The municipality comprises 50 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Yotala with 1,522 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northern part of the district.

The municipality of Yotala is located in the central part of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east.
