The Pushkinia squill ( Scilla puschkinioides , Syn . : Fessia puschkinioides (rule) Speta ) is a species of the genus of the squill ( Scilla ).

The Pushkinia squill is a perennial plant that reaches heights of 10 to 20 centimeters. This geophyte forms onions as persistent organs. The 2 to 7 leaves are blunt and measure 15 to 18 × 0.3 to 1.8 (3) centimeters. The tepals are white, sometimes tinged with pale blue-violet, have a dirty blue central nerve and are 10 to 13 (15) millimeters long. The 1 to 11 flowers form a dense cluster. The lower flower stalks are 1.5 to 4 (6) millimeters long. The bracts are 2.5 to 3 millimeters long and spurred. The seeds are 3 to 4 millimeters long and have no oil body.

The flowering period is from April to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 10, rarely 15.

Occurrence

The Pushkinian squill occurs in Kyrgyzstan , Turkmenia , Tajikistan in the west and south Pamirs and in south-west Tianschan ; it would also be expected in Afghanistan . This species colonizes thorn bushes, perennial and juniper corridors on loess and stony slopes at altitudes of 850 to 3200 meters.
