Pyramid Island is a small uninhabited island of the Rat Islands and belongs to the Aleutian Islands . The island lies between Davidof and Khvostof, its highest point is 164 m above sea level.
Like the neighboring islands of Davidof and Lopy, Pyramid is probably the remnant of a caldera rim . The caldera was part of a volcano that was largely destroyed in the Tertiary as a result of an explosive eruption . Pyramid Island was named after the crew of the USS Oglala in 1935 because of its shape.
