Quenton Nelson (* 19th March 1996 in Holmdel , New Jersey ) is an American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Indianapolis Colts as an offensive guard .

college

Nelson attended the University of Notre Dame from 2014 to 2017 and played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2015 . In total, he completed 37 games for the Fighting Irish.

NFL draft

Nelson traded very high in the lead up to the 2018 NFL Draft compared to other offensive linemen . Ultimately, the Indianapolis Colts used their 6th pick for him, choosing him very early in the first round of the draft.

Even in his rookie season, Nelson was able to show very good performances during the regular season 2018 and played all 16 games as a starter. In October, he was even named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month . He reached the play-offs with the Colts , but failed there in the Divisional Playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs .

Nelson was elected to the Pro Bowl in his first season in the NFL and participated in the 2019 Pro Bowl .
