The Réserve écologique de la Rivière-aux-Brochets is a 126 hectare protected area established in 1999 in the south of the Canadian province of Québec, 3 km east of Venise-en-Québec .

It extends at the mouth of the Rivière aux Brochets in the Champlainsee and protects one of the last natural river banks in the area of the lake, or the Baie Mississippi . It belongs to the parishes of Saint-Armand and Saint-Pierre-de-Véronne-à-Pike-River , which in turn belong to the county council of Brome-Missisquoi .

The protected area lies between 29 and 31  m above sea level and lies entirely in the floodplain of the river and Lake Champlain. Beyond the sand deposits, there are silt and clay minerals on which a layer of organic substances up to 2 m thick has been deposited. This created a swamp area where the native species of red maple , black and red ash thrive, as well as gray alder and ilex . Ferns , particularly Osmunda claytoniana, grow closer to the ground . Away from the swamp, silver maple and red ash, balsam fir and American elm predominate.

After a series of devastating floods, the dense red maple stocks were cleared. Sourgrass plants , narrow-leaved cattails , knotty hedgehogs , but also calamus , swan flower ( Butomus umbellatus ) have been able to spread more widely since then.

76 bird species were found in the reserve, such as passerines or the American bittern , an endangered species. Six species of frogs and four species of turtles live here, three species, namely the leopard frog , the mapped mute turtle and the thorn-edge softshell turtle are considered endangered. There are also numerous species of fish.
