The Río Pumiri is a river in the province of Sajama in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia.

The Río Pumiri rises five kilometers northwest of the village of Turco west of the ridge of the Serranía de Huayllamarca . The river flows in a south-easterly direction for the first four kilometers, then turns to the south-west, before flowing again in a south-easterly direction after another eleven kilometers. At kilometer 20, the river leaves the mountain range and then passes through the vast alluvial plain of the Río Turco for the remaining fifteen kilometers . After a total of 35 kilometers of the Rio Pumiri opens into the Rio Turco , which in the further course via the Lauca River for salt lake Salar de Coipasa flows, the second largest salt of Bolivia. This is located at an altitude of 3680 m in the Andes .

At kilometer 20 on the Río Pumiri is Ciudad de Piedra de Pumiri , an archaeological site within bizarre volcanic rock formations.
