Różaniec is a village in Poland with about 1,550 inhabitants in the municipality of Tarnogród , Powiat Biłgorajski in the Lublin Voivodeship , in eastern Poland . It is located about 8 km southeast of Tarnogród, 26 km south of Biłgoraj and 104 km south of the capital of the Lublin Voivodeship . Różaniec is divided into the three parts Różaniec Pierwszy, Różaniec Drugi and Różaniec-Szkoła with their own school offices.

history

The village was laid out in 1550 by Jan Dymitr Kuźma. From 1588/1589 it belonged to the Zamość family fideikommiss . In 1591 an Orthodox church was mentioned, after the Union of Brest Greek-Catholic. In 1624 it was destroyed by the Tatars. In 1674 there were 63 houses.

During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Różaniec became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). From 1783 in the Zamosc district . By 1791, 12 German families were settled in Różaniec as part of the Josephine colonization . In 1800 there were 14 German families. The neighboring farmers from Wólka Różaniecka complained about the illegal annexation of the arable fields by the colonists.

The Zamosc district was ceded to the Duchy of Warsaw on October 14, 1809 as the only district of the First Partition of Poland . From 1815 Różaniec belonged near the Austrian border to the Russian-ruled Congress Poland , to the Lublin department , Powiat Tarnogród . German-Polish Reconciliation Cross

In 1918, after the end of the First World War , Różaniec came to Poland. During the Second World War it belonged to the Generalgouvernement . From 1975 to 1998 Różaniec was part of the Zamość Voivodeship .

Personalities

In the Bavarian village of Aulzhausen there is a German-Polish reconciliation cross for Michał Kwik, a slave laborer who was born in Różaniec in 1922 and executed by the National Socialists in 1944. The inauguration of the memorial in 1994 at the Aulzhauser Friedhof was the origin of the municipal partnership between the municipality of Affing and the Polish city of Łobez .
