Rózsi Delly

Rózsi Delly (born December 16, 1912 in Budapest , † March 2000 ) was a Hungarian opera singer ( dramatic soprano ).

Life

Delly sang the great Wagner roles at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest for years. She worked with Otto Klemperer , Lamberto Gardelli , Wolfgang Windgassen , Anja Silja , Sándor Kónya , Mihály Székely , János Ferencsik , Miklós Lukács , József Simándy and Júlia Osváth, among others . Guest performances in Paris, London, Brussels, Moscow, Bayreuth etc. cemented her name in the international opera world and made the heroic Wagner singer known far beyond the borders of Hungary. Since 2008, the IRG Württemberg has awarded the Rose Delly Special Prize every year as part of the Karl Adler Music Competition.
