Römersleimberg is a court in the mountainous city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The Hofschaft is located in the northwest of the city at 234  m above sea level. NHN in the north of the Eckbusch residential area in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district near the city limits of Velbert.

history

Römersleimberg is marked as Lemerig on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715 . The place is marked on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 together with the residential areas Oberste Leimberg and Unterste Leimberg as Leimberger Höfe and on the Prussian first survey of 1843 as Römer Leimberg . The place bears the name Römersleimberg on measuring table sheets .

In the 19th century Römersleimberg belonged to the peasantry Small height of the mayoralty Hardenberg established in 1935 Neviges has been renamed. From 1816 to 1861 it belonged to the Elberfeld district and from 1861 to the old Mettmann district .

The communal road between Elberfeld and Neviges, built in the 1830s and later expanded to state road 427, ran through the village . At the beginning of the 20th century, a tram line ran through Römersleimberg on Kommunalchaussee or Landesstraße 427. It was shut down on August 3, 1952. In the first third of the 20th century, the tram route, which, like the road, made an arc through Römersleimberg, was relocated to its own, straightened route north of the town. In the 1950s / 60s, the road was straightened and relocated to the old tram route, so that since then Römersleimberg can only be reached via a spur road.

In 1888 eight residents lived in one house in Römersleimberg.

Due to the regional reform of North Rhine-Westphalia , Neviges came to the city of Velbert at the beginning of 1975 and the eastern suburbs of Neviges around Römersleimberg were incorporated into Wuppertal.
