Systematics

The genus Chamaemelum was established by Philip Miller in The Gardeners Dictionary ... Abridged , 4th Edition, p. 315 in 1754 . A synonym for Chamaemelum Mill. Is Ormenis (Cass.) Cass. The genus Chamaemelum belongs to the subtribe Santolininae from the tribe Anthemideae in the subfamily Asteroideae within the family Asteraceae . As is often the case in this tribe, the assignment of the species to the genera is often unclear and changes frequently. The species numbers for the genus range from two to six.

The two species always counted in the genus Chamaemelum are:

  • Roman chamomile ( Chamaemelum nobile (L.) All. )
  • Chamaemelum fuscatum (bread.) Vasc. (Syn .: Anthemis fuscata bread. ): It occurs in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Spain, France, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy, Sicily and Albania. In Tenerife she is a neophyte.

The following species are also included in the genus Chamaemelum :
