The Röthenbach is an approximately 13 km long stream in the Bavarian districts of Ostallgäu and Augsburg , which flows into the Singold from the left and south in the district of Langerringen in the municipality of the same name .

geography

course

The Röthenbach flows at a little over 610  m above sea level. NHN from the Großkitzighofer Moos , which is located in a southern corner of the Lamerdingen municipal area and is under biotope protection. From the beginning to the end of its course, the stream flows roughly northwards. Before the district of Kleinkitzighofen, it passes the Stocketheiligholz forest on its eastern edge and dines at a little less than 600  m above sea level. NHN two ponds of about 0.8 ha and about 2.8 ha area close by. The Röthenbach runs mostly openly through the parish village, beyond the settlement boundary it then soon changes to the municipality of Langerringen, where it rises west of the Schwabmühlhausen Riedfeld for the first time to a little over 580  m above sea level. NHN flows in the middle of a small valley basin, in which some smaller drainage ditches run towards it.

Further down, he passes the wasteland of Schwabaich to the east. Then he enters the 20 hectare nature reserve around the Burghofweiher . Here it flows through at heights of 570  m above sea level. NHN the approximately 4.8 ha large Upper and the approximately 2.0 ha large Lower Pond and feeds some smaller still waters, which are more likely to be called Lachen because they sometimes dry up. The Statzelbach , its longest tributary, also runs to it from the left . Then it flows in a partly straight course through the flat valley basin, which is already shared with its Singold receiving river, between the church village of Westerringen on the left and the parish village of Langerringen on the right, which stretches along the Singold. A little later, the settlement area of Langerringen is also to the left of the Röthenbach, but the floodplain remains almost free of construction. At the industrial area on the north-western edge of Langerringen, the stream runs under a bridge on the Buchloe – Augsburg railway line and then joins the Riedweilergraben from the left . Immediately afterwards the Röthenbach joins the Singold after about 13 km from the left and south.

Catchment area

The Röthenbach drains 20–30 km² of the Lechfeld northwards to the Singold . Its catchment area slopes very steadily to the north with a gradient of less than 1%. In it he almost always runs near the eastern edge. It is limited in the east by the immediate catchment area of the nearby Singold, in the south by that of its left tributary Schorenbach . In the south-west, the Schanzgraben competes with the Gennach , which is then the closest body of water beyond the rest of the watershed in the west and north-west.

The watershed is morphologically distinct only in the east opposite the Singold up to the Langerringener Burghof, everywhere else waters with no drainage on both sides indicate infiltration or there are wide plains without profile and watercourses. The last tributary Riedweilergraben, the most westerly brook in the system, is apparently an art run due to the consistent routing along traffic routes, as are its tributaries; the natural runoff is therefore unclear here.

  5. ↑ Catchment area measured on: BayernAtlas of the Bavarian State Government ( notes ) The demarcation of the catchment area, especially to the Gennach in the west, is difficult, as no dividing ridge can be seen here on the basis of the contour lines. According to the map, in the southwest of the Gennach there is an outflow-free system of ditches that runs against the slope of the terrain. And also a little south of the Großkitzighofer Moos stretches for almost 1.5 km a watercourse with no mouths on both sides.
