After the Bavarian Railway Company tendered the transport in the so-called Diesel Network Allgäu, the regional rail cycle was set up on the Augsburg – Bobingen section from December 2007. This enabled connections every quarter of an hour in the so-called load directions in the early morning and evening . Since December 2011 there have been fast connections every two hours from Augsburg to Kempten Hbf. And back with tilting technology multiple units of the 612 series. These trains only stop in Buchloe and Kaufbeuren - the journey time is less than an hour. Some of these connections are tied to and from Nürnberg Hbf ( Allgäu-Franken-Express ).
Regional express trains of the DB Regio also run every two hours from Augsburg to Memmingen and Bad Wörishofen with train sharing in Türkheim . Here are diesel railcars of series 642 and series 612 used.
In the outskirts of the day, the station is served by individual trains from Kempten, Lindau and Oberstdorf to Augsburg with class 612 diesel multiple units.
Following a further tender in the Augsburg I diesel network, from December 2018 the Bavarian Regiobahn ( Transdev ) will run every two hours from Augsburg to Füssen with amplifiers from Augsburg to Buchloe, some of which will be extended to Marktoberdorf . The Lechfeldbahn is also served by the Bayerische Regiobahn with hourly regional trains from Augsburg to Kaufering or Landsberg. Additional regional trains between Augsburg and Bobingen provide approximately 10 to 15 minute intervals on this section. LINT railcars are used in single or multiple units.
The operation from Augsburg to Memmingen or to Bad Wörishofen in the D-Netz Allgäu Lot 1 remained with DB Regio Bayern from December 2017 .
future
The Augsburg – Schwabmünchen section could become part of the planned Augsburg S-Bahn . In the long term, consideration is being given to electrifying the railway line. So far, however, there are no concrete plans for this.
