Augsburg Messe station

Augsburg Messe station

The Augsburg Messe station ( 48 ° 20 ′ 18 ″  N , 10 ° 53 ′ 9 ″  E ) is a barrier-free stop on the Augsburg – Buchloe railway line , which was reopened in 2000 as part of the Interschutz trade fair . The Göggingen stop had existed at the same location since around 1900 , a simple wooden shack without a platform, which was closed and demolished at the end of the 1960s due to insufficient demand.

The station in the tariff area of the Augsburger Verkehrsverbund (AVV) is served by all regional trains that run between Augsburg Central Station and Buchloe (as R7 via Bobingen and Schwabmünchen ) and Landsberg am Lech (as R8 via Klosterlechfeld ). The introduction of the regional rail cycle with the planned expansion to include the S-Bahn has increased the importance of the Augsburg Messe station , which now serves as an important stop for commuters from the Göggingen district .
