Rüdiger Edelmann

Rüdiger Edelmann (born April 13, 1954 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German radio presenter, editor and travel journalist.

Life

In 1980 Edelmann completed his master's degree (MA) in literary studies and sociology . From 1981 to 1982 he was a training officer at the Evangelical Media Academy in Berlin today, at that time as part of the joint venture of Evangelical Journalism in Frankfurt. In 1982 he went to the Hessischer Rundfunk and worked there as a freelance radio journalist until 1985. During this time he also worked in the editorial offices of the ARD radio stations Südwestfunk , Bayerischer Rundfunk , Saarländischer Rundfunk , Süddeutscher Rundfunk , Hansawelle and Deutschlandfunk as well as in the editorial department of the magazine Bulletin Jugend & Literatur . In 1986 he became a permanent editor at hr3 , where, along with many other programs, he presented the leisure magazine hr3 on the go . It is thanks to him that Werner Reinke returned to hr3 in 2002 . He also built up the event magazine Pinnbord . From 1993 to 2004 he was deputy program manager at hr3. During this time he was also in charge of the cinema magazine "hr3-Oscar" and was a. a. responsible for the organization of hr3 events such as the "inline tour". From 2004 to the end of 2014 he was deputy program manager and head of the broadcasting and planning department at hr4 , where he was one of the moderators of the hr4-Freizeit program . As a specialist journalist for travel and tourism, Edelmann produced numerous travel programs for Hessischer Rundfunk. - After leaving the hr, he works as a freelance travel journalist. He is a member of the DJV- Hesse and of the Association of German Travel Journalists , from which he was awarded the Columbus Radio Prize in 2008 . From 2012 to 2014 he was treasurer of the VDRJ, since October 2014 he has been chairman of the Association of German Travel Journalists

Rüdiger Edelmann lives in Baunatal near Kassel . His current journalistic project and product is an internet magazine with a podcast: www.deutsches-reiseradio.com. Here, too, he deals with his favorite subject of travel and tourism. He has now also written and published travel guides. In 2012 the book Kassel und Nordhessen was published: 66 favorite places and 11 fairy tales . The updated new edition went on sale in 2016 under the title Märchenhaftes Kassel und Nordhessen . In the same year, his travel book Rhön, so nice , was published that was updated a year later. Both books were published by Gmeiner-Verlag in Meßkirch.
