Rüdiger H. Jung

Rüdiger Heinrich Jung (born December 25, 1950 in Neuwied ) is a German university professor for business administration, in particular management / leadership and organizational development at the RheinAhrCampus Remagen at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences . He is the author and editor of several scientific publications and an advisor to business executives.

Life

After graduating from high school in Koblenz in 1970, he studied economics and social psychology at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne . At the University of Cologne , he completed his studies in 1976 as a business graduate from. This was followed by activities in the steel industry, including as assistant to the CEO of Thyssen Klönne AG in Dortmund , and in the economics department of the University of Siegen at the chair of Eberhard Seidel. Jung is a founding member of the Institute for Ecological Business Administration (IÖB). 1984 doctorate he with a work of self-organization in companies for Dr. rer. pole. at the University of Siegen . Jung has been a trained logotherapist and existential analyst since 2010 .

research

Jung conducts research in the areas of leadership, self-organization and cooperation in corporate networks . With his dissertation in business administration (“Microorganization”, 1985), he presented an early study of the decentralized, often evolutionary development patterns following regulatory services in companies. His understanding of “self-organization” is relative and not absolute with regard to system boundaries, power structures and hierarchies. That is why his considerations are always directed towards the relationship between self-organization and external organization. His work on self-organization has also attracted attention beyond his own specialist area; so z. B. in the "International Encyclopedia of Civil Society" published in New York.

Jung also deals with the value and meaning orientation of people and discusses these in the context of organization and leadership. He relies primarily on the work on philosophical anthropology by Max Scheler and on logotherapy and existential analysis by Viktor E. Frankl .

In addition, Jung, together with authors from other disciplines, has also presented interdisciplinary scientific papers on European topics; For example, on the European idea of ​​an “Economie Sociale” that is committed to acting in solidarity, as well as the creative handling of diversity. As a consultant to executives in business, Jung has also crossed the border between science and practice for many years.

Civic engagement

Jung is involved in various social areas on a voluntary basis. He was active in youth work in the field of sport, has worked in regional development initiatives, etc. a. for his hometown Neuwied , and is now a volunteer member of committees and supervisory boards of church and social institutions. In 2001 he ran as a non-party member for the office of district administrator in the Mayen-Koblenz district and received 35.9% of the votes cast.
