Rūta Ščiogolevaitė-Damijonaitienė
Rūta Ščiogolevaitė-Damijonaitienė (born June 25, 1981 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian pop singer .
Life
Rūta Ščiogolevaitė attended the Šiauliai children's music school . She completed the piano class at the Tallat Kelpša High School in Vilnius . In 2000, Ščiogolevaitė sang for six months in the show program in a restaurant in Dar es Salaam , Tanzania . In 2002 she took 2nd place in the “Fizz Superstar” music competition. In 2003, Ščiogolevaitė was awarded the special prize of the Jurmala Duma in the international “New Wave” competition in Jūrmala (Latvia) . In 2004 she took second place with her song "Over" and in 2007 with the song "If I Ever Make You Cry", in 2011 she came third and in 2009 fourth place in the national preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest . After unsuccessful applications in 1999, 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2011, Ščiogolevaitė excluded further participation in the preliminary round. In 2016 she performed again and sang the song United . Ščiogolevaitė-Damijonaitienė reached the finals and took 3rd place.
In August 2008, Ščiogolevaitė had a concert with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra (conductor Robertas Šervenikas ) at the 2008 Palanga Summer Festival: Jazz Ballads . In 2010 she performed at the Istanbul Congress Center . Ščiogolevaitė was a juror on the Lithuanian TV casting show “Lithuania's got talent”.
Ščiogolevaitė spent three years studying jazz - singing and from 2009 to June 2012, the bachelor graduated in classical singing at the Lietuvos muzikos ir teatro akademija . From September 2012 to 2014 she studied classical singing at the Vytauto Didžiojo Universitetas Music Academy in Kaunas .
Personal
In 2005, Ščiogolevaitė married the four-year-old balloonist Vytautas Samarinas in Birštonas Church . In 2006 she met the sports dancer Deividas Meškauskas (* 1987) at the LTV dance project "Lietuvos šokių dešimtukas" and took 2nd place with him and in 2008 had their son Adomas. In 2010 she met the German singer Elvin Dandel (* 1981) and had duets with him. On June 14, 2013, she married the Kaunas entrepreneur Rolandas Damijonaitis (* 1988) in Kaunas City Hall and became Damijonaitienė. In August 2014 she had the daughter Anabelė and in September 2015 the son Aronas.
