Radio Schlagerparadies (formerly RMN Schlagerhölle ) is a special music program from Kleinblittersdorf . The private broadcaster with a musical focus on Schlager is financed through advertising income. Radio Schlagerparadies belongs to the RMNradio Group and is licensed by the Saarland State Media Authority.

history

Radio Schlagerparadies was founded in 2005 as an internet radio under the name RMN Schlagerhölle . On August 9, 2007, the broadcaster was granted a nationwide broadcast license without allocation of transmission capacities by the State Media Authority Saarland (LMS). This license basically enables the broadcaster to broadcast its program via all available transmission channels such as DAB + , VHF radio, satellite and cable . From this point on, the program will be fed into numerous broadband cable networks in Germany independently of the Internet. On September 1st 2013 the RMN Schlagerhölle was renamed Radio Schlagerparadies . The new website went online two days beforehand. In January 2014, RMNradio signed a program delivery contract with Regiocast , with which the Schlagerparadies is able to take over the broadcasting slot of 90elf in the nationwide DAB multiplex. In its meeting on January 21, 2014, the ZAK rejected the nationwide distribution of the hit paradise; However, the Regiocast was initially only able to broadcast the program until the program slot was re-advertised at its own risk within the framework of a tolerance. She made use of this on January 31, 2014. In its meeting on February 18, 2014, the ZAK reversed its first decision and granted the Regiocast an unlimited license to broadcast the Schlager paradise on the former 90-eleven slot in the Bundesmux. In February 2016, the radio company Regiocast announced that it would return part of its capacities in the Bundesmux. These are the CUs on which the Schlagerparadies program is currently broadcasting as part of a cooperation with the Saarland operator RMN Radio. The ZAK will therefore put the capacities out to tender again. In the meeting on June 21, 2016, the ZAK decided to assign 42 CUs to the Schlagerparadies program.

Broadcast studios and broadcast technology

In addition to the permanent main studio in the broadcasting center in Kleinblittersdorf near Saarbrücken, from which various programs and presenters broadcast, several regional studios from all over Germany join the program every day with their respective live programs. During the automated transmission times without moderation, the program comes from a decentralized server cluster in Hamburg, where the technical systems for broadcasting on cable and DAB + are also located in a high-security data center.

Program and music selection

Since July 2017, the entire daily program has been moderated live from 6 a.m. to midnight and interrupted by hourly world news. Radio Schlagerparadies only plays German-language titles without exception. International classics can only be found in German cover versions, such as B. Midnight Lady , All Power to Dreams (Neverending Story) , Felicita or I am strong only with you (You´re my Heart, You´re my Soul) .

On January 21, 2018, the program Hitmix der Nacht was re-included in the program because the broadcaster WDR 4 had discontinued the rhythm of the night, which was largely receivable nationwide as part of the ARD Hitnacht, due to a realignment after almost 16 years. The hit mix of the night should close the gap for the modern dance and disco camp on Saturday / Sunday night, which was created by the discontinuation of WDR 4. The premiere broadcast was presented by the former WDR 4 presenter Peter Kuttler. Small needle pricks in the direction of WDR 4 could not be avoided. The first track played was Rhythm of the Night by Leonard .

Since January 2020 Schlagerparadies has been realizing the radio stream "Radio Schlager.de" for the music portal Schlager.de .

reception

DAB

On December 18, 2012, approval for DAB + broadcasting in the state-wide private multiplex on channel 11C was granted by the LPR for the Rhine-Main area . Two days later the location followed on the Berlin TV tower in DAB + Block 7B for the Berlin / Brandenburg area. For the DAB + regional multiplex Saxony-Anhalt in DAB block 11C, the broadcasting license was allocated by the state media authority MSA on April 17, 2013; the broadcast signal was activated 13 days later on April 30, 2013. On July 11, 2013, the media council approved the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM) distribute the program offer over the nationwide DAB + frequency block 12D. The activation took place on September 1, 2013. In the course of the change to the nationwide multiplex of Media Broadcast on channel 5C on January 31, 2014, the broadcast in the Bavarian Mux on 12D was stopped on February 1, 2014 at 1 o'clock. The Berlin Mux 7B followed shortly before 2 p.m. on February 20, 2014. In the Hessian Mux 11C, the distribution was stopped on March 7, 2014 and on January 28, 2015 on the Mux 11C in Saxony-Anhalt. Since then, the program can only be received via DAB + in the Bundesmux channel 5C.

Internet

Since the start, the program has been available worldwide as web radio on the station's homepage . Radio Schlagerparadies has also developed its own app, which can also be used to receive the program on the smartphone. The Schlagerparadies app is available in the Google Playstore and in the iOS Appstore .

electric wire

From 2007 also via various broadband cable networks in Germany, for example in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Saarland, as well as in all the new federal states.

satellite

Until the almost nationwide expansion of the DAB + transmitter network in Germany, the program could also be received in parallel for almost 6 years from February 15, 2013 to December 31, 2018 via Astra 1N 19.2 ° East (12,633 MHz horizontal, SR 22,000 k / S, FEC 5/6), which was of particular benefit to listeners in other European countries. In a direct comparison via satellite, however, the audio quality was noticeably worse than via DAB +.

Additional services

In addition to the audio signal, Radio Schlagerparadies transmits dynamic content on its DAB + subchannel (channel 5C) with extensive graphic information on the current music title and the respective program (DAB + slideshow), as well as texts accompanying the program in DAB + DynamicLabel and DynamicLabelPlus (title / artist / program name / presenter / Information). The DAB + Journaline service, which has been offered on a trial basis since 2014, was taken out of service on July 1, 2016 due to the lack of dissemination of corresponding receivers and removed from the service signaling on July 4, 2016. Since July 17, 2013 EPG has also been supported via Astra and in the digital radio of the connected cable networks. Between April 2013 and September 2014, the cable networks were also equipped with dynamic RDS information on a test basis.
