The RS-UAS SK202 Geoexplorer is a single-engine, two-seat remote sensing and surveillance aircraft developed as an OPV platform by the German manufacturer Reiner Stemme Utility Air-Systems . The first deliveries of the system were planned for 2018, but instead a series production of the smaller motorized glider ELFIN20.E took place.
construction
The self -supporting , high- stretched shoulder wing in fiber-plastic composite construction made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic with two suspension points under the middle section of the three-part wing has a conventional T-tail unit . The outer wing with winglets can be folded for space-saving hangaring , leaving a span of 11 meters.
A diesel engine with 180 HP (132 kW ) installed behind the crew compartment drives a three-bladed variable pitch propeller in the nose of the fuselage as a mid-engine with the exhaust on the top of the fuselage. An auxiliary - jet engine at one of the external load stations is optionally provided.
The cockpit with seats next to one another and a split hood supported by a stringer has windows in the side wall in the footwell of the crew. The tripod landing gear can be retracted into the fuselage.

When the engine is severely throttled, it can be used autonomously or remotely for up to 24 hours for remote sensing or monitoring. The aircraft can be brought to the scene by a crew, dismantled on a trailer or in a 40-foot container .
