RTV Noord is a public regional radio and television broadcaster in the Dutch province of Groningen .

history

In 1959, the RON , the Regionale Omroep Noord , (German: Regionalrundfunk Nord), which had served the provinces of Fryslân , Groningen and Drenthe since 1946 , was formed into the RONO ( Regionale Omroep Noord en Oost ), which now also has Overijssel and shortly afterwards Gelderland covered. In 1978 RONO was split into three regional broadcasters: Radio Fryslân (today: Omrop Fryslân ) for Fryslân, Radio Noord for Groningen and Drenthe and Radio Oost for Gelderland and Overijssel. On July 7, 1989, Radio Drenthe was separated from Radio Noord .

The next change took place on April 3, 1995. From Radio Noord was RTV Noord and you also began television broadcasts broadcast. Three years later, on May 1, 1998, RTV Noord was also represented on the Internet. Radio Noord

The radio program from RTV Noord , or “Radio Noord” for short (here the historical name sounds through), broadcasts 24 hours on the terrestrial VHF frequency 97.5 MHz, but also digitally via live stream , or DAB + . From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., a moderated program with news from the region, music and contributions, also in the Groning dialect , is broadcast, after which a pure music program is usually broadcast throughout.

TV Noord

From 1995 to 2012, one hour of television programs was broadcast daily, divided into half an hour of news and half an hour of entertaining programs with names such as Kunstschatten , Vrouger and Cunera op vrijdag . Since 2012, RTV Noord has only broadcast a half-hour television program, mostly with news and weather reports, followed since 2013 by a short quiz program entitled Klouk . It is broadcast via cable , satellite and DVB-T .

  • The regionally known singer and dialect poet Ede Staal was discovered and promoted by the station in the 1980s. His bust stands prominently in the foyer of the station.
