Baron Rabe Ludwig von Dalwigk zu Lichtenfels (* October 10, 1683 , † March 11, 1754 in Ziegenhain ) was a Hesse-Kassel officer , most recently lieutenant general and governor of the Ziegenhain fortress .

Life

House Kampf in Dalwigksthal in the 18th century

Dalwigk was probably born at Haus Kampf in Dalwigksthal , the estate of his ancestors . His parents were lieutenant colonel Johann Philipp von Dalwigk zu Lichtenfels (1629–1688) and his wife Anna Regina Christina von Habel zu Lützelwig . He had six brothers who all became soldiers.

He was a soldier from Hessen-Kassel all his life . As early as 1701 he joined the Hessian "Regiment von Boineburgk on horseback" as a cornet and soon made a career there: in 1706 he was promoted to lieutenant , in 1711 he became captain , in 1719 major and in 1728 lieutenant colonel . In 1732 he was given command of the carbine regiment on horseback. In 1734 he became a colonel, in 1738 commander of the body regiment on horseback in Kassel and a year later head of the regiment . In 1743 he was promoted to major general, three years later to lieutenant general. In 1750 he was appointed governor of the Ziegenhain Fortress.

progeny

During his time as a major he met Elisabeth Franziska Sophie von Bobenhausen called Mernolfs, who was married to Lieutenant Johann Friedrich von Büssing ( Bissing ) at the time. This resulted in a love affair, and his lover bore him a son, Georg Ludwig , whom he officially recognized and placed in a cadet institute at the age of ten . Georg Ludwig became the Prussian general and progenitor of the Silesian barons of Dalwig, who had since died out in the male line .
