history

The band was formed in 1988 and consisted of ex-Paradox members Dean Maltese (drums), Randy Jostes (bass) and singer and guitarist Jon Dobbs. A short time later, guitarist Michael Posch from Crystal Ax joined them. A self-titled demo was released that same year, followed by Vicious Raditude in 1990 and Masquerade in 1991. You took advantage of every opportunity to perform, regardless of whether it was a tiny pub, a shabby club or a location demanding money. Still albumlos, managed the band into the opening act of Queensrÿche , Megadeth and Kansas . After the group had signed a contract with Century Media , the debut album Malice in Tranquility was released in 1996, followed by the second album in 1998 under the name Requiem for the Innocent . In between, the band also contributed a cover version of the song Night Crawler for a Judas Priest Tribute sampler from Century Media. Although there was never an official dissolution, the members began to deal with other projects.

style

According to Volker Raabe from Metal Hammer , the band plays hard, classic and mature Metal comparable to Lizzy Borden or Lillian Ax . In a metal hammer interview with Andreas Schöwe, bassist Jon Dobbs admitted that he was heavily influenced by Queensrÿche. According to Schöwe, the band plays heavy metal with a progressive touch on Malice and Tranquility . On the second album, according to Dobbs, the band incorporated a bit of Gothic , monumental orchestrations and polyphonic choirs. In his review of Malice and Tranquility , Schöwe stated that there was a progressiveness on the album comparable to Fates Warning and a heavyness like Queensrÿche. The three power metal ballads with canon- like vocals would be reminiscent of Crimson Glory . According Schöwe was on Requiem for the Innocent "the emotional depth earlier, Crimson Glory progressive Power Queensryches ... MINDCRIME -times and the virtuosity of modern Savatage combines". There are also Gregorian choirs , orchestrations and piano passages. The groove in Sit up and Sweat is reminiscent of Metallica's self-titled album . Frank Trojan stated in rock hard "old-fashioned-80s-metal". The rest of the editorial team threw in Tyketto , Pretty Maids, and Lillian Ax for guidance .
