Radisson is a settlement in the municipality of Baie-James , which was dissolved in 2014 in the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James Territory, in the north of the Canadian province of Québec . The parish is located in a regional county parish ( municipalité régionale de comté ) corresponding Jamésie and was founded in 1974 to house construction workers and employees of the Baie-James hydropower project.
The place was named after the French explorer, ranger and fur trader Pierre-Esprit Radisson .
Radisson is the end point of the 620 km Route de la Baie James to Matagami , which was built in the early 1970s to develop the construction sites of the Baie James hydropower project.
