Radomir Naumov (born May 12, 1946 in Čoka , Vojvodina , Yugoslavia , † May 22, 2015 in Belgrade ) was a Serbian politician of the Democratic Party of Serbia DSS ( Demokratska stranka Srbije ) , who was Minister for Mining and Energy in the between 2004 and 2007 first government and from 2007 to 2008 Minister of Religion in the second government of Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica .

Life

After attending school, Naumov completed a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Belgrade and, after graduating as an engineer, was a senior employee at the Nikola Tesla Electrotechnical Institute and, most recently, its general director from 1992 to 1999. He then took on a professorship at the Technical University in Bor and was also chairman of the board of the energy supply company EPS ( Elektroprivreda Srbije ) and the power plant in Belgrade.

At the same time, he was involved in specialist organizations and was not only president of the Yugoslav delegation to the International Council for Large Electronic Networks Cigré (Conseil International des Grands Reseaux Électriques) and chairman and member of various specialist committees of the Federal Standards Agency, but also vice-president of the Society for the since 1993 Disseminating the scientific knowledge of Nikola Tesla. Furthermore, Naumov wrote numerous technical articles on electrical engineering topics.

Naumov, who was a member of the National Assembly of Serbia until 2004 , acted as chairman of the Democratic Party of Serbia DSS (Demokratska stranka Srbije) in Belgrade.

On March 3, 2004, Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica appointed him to succeed Kori Udovički as Minister for Mining and Energy in his first government. As part of a cabinet reshuffle, Naumov was appointed as the successor to Milan Radulović as minister of religion in the second Koštunica government on May 15, 2007 , while Aleksandar Popović succeeded him as minister for mining and energy. He belonged to the second government of Koštunica until the end of its term on July 7, 2008 and was then replaced by Bogoljub Šijaković , who took over the office of Minister of Religion in the government of Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković .

At the end of 2014 Naumov was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of St. Sava by the Bishop of the Patriarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej .
