Koštunica II government
The Serbian government for the period from 2007 to 2008 was a coalition of the four parties Democratic Party (DS), Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), G17 + and New Serbia (NS). It was constituted on May 15, 2007 and was ratified by parliament on the same day. The parliamentary elections took place on January 21, 2007. The elections were early elections because the G17 Plus party had left the previous governing coalition.
After Kosovo's declaration of independence in February 2008 and its subsequent recognition by several EU countries, there were profound differences in the government about the further course of rapprochement with the European Union , Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica resigned on March 8, 2008 and brought it forward again New elections announced.
