Vuk Jeremic
Vuk Jeremić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Вук Јеремић , born July 3, 1975 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian politician of the Demokratska Stranka party , He was Foreign Minister of the Government of Serbia from May 15, 2007 to July 2012 and was elected President of the UN General Assembly in 2012.
As a member of Queens' College , Jeremić is a graduate of Cambridge University in natural sciences with a focus on theoretical physics . After graduating, he worked for various banks in London , including Deutsche Bank , as well as for the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca . He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University . He was a co-founder of the Organization of Serbian Students Abroad. After the fall of the Milošević regime in 2000, he returned to his homeland and initially worked for the Yugoslav Ministry of Telecommunications. In 2003 he moved to the Ministry of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro, where he was Special Envoy for Liaison with NATO and the EU . From 2004 to 2007 he was foreign policy advisor to President Boris Tadić . In February 2006 he was elected to the board of directors of Tadić's Democratic Party . From May 15, 2007 to July 2012, he was Serbia's foreign minister.
In the 2016 nomination for UN Secretary-General , he came in second.
Jeremić is married and, in addition to his native Serbian, speaks English and German.
