Dante M. Caputo

Dante Mario Caputo (born November 25, 1943 in Buenos Aires , † June 20, 2018 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine politician .

Life

Dante Caputo studied in Boston and did her doctorate in Paris . From 1968 to 1972 he was a lecturer in political sociology and public administration at universities in Buenos Aires. Since 1972 he has dealt with problems of democratization and administrative reform and also took on advisory tasks in France and the USA .

From 1983 to 1989 he was foreign minister of Argentina and at the same time adviser to President Raúl Alfonsín . During his tenure he was elected President of the 43rd UN General Assembly and held this office from 1988 to 1989. In 1989 and 1997 he was also elected for one term as a member of the National Congress. In his first term of office he represented the Unión Cívica Radical , then the Frente País Solidario .

Dante Caputo was married and had three children.
