Radu Neculai Zaharia (born January 25, 1989 in Mediaş ) is a Romanian football player . The full-back has been under contract with Gaz Metan Mediaș since the beginning of 2016 .

Career

Zaharia started playing football at Gaz Metan Mediaș in his hometown in 1999 . After he had gone through all youth teams, he came in 2007 in the squad of the first team that played in League II at the time . In his first season he rose to League 1 as a regular with his team . There he came in the 2008/09 season only as a supplementary player to the course and secured with his team only through the license withdrawal of FC Argeş Piteşti relegation. His status on the team did not change in the 2009/10 season . It was not until the second half of the 2010/11 season that he became a regular and ended the season with his team in seventh place, which meant qualifying for the Europa League . In the 2011/12 season and a year later, it was only used irregularly. Gaz Metan always fought for relegation and ended the league in the lower midfield. In the 2013/14 season he regained his regular seat before an injury stopped him in May 2014. This also ensured that he missed the entire first half of 2014/15 . He returned to the team in early 2015. At the end of the season he had to relegate his team. Zaharia then left Mediaș in the summer of 2015 for FC Voluntari . There he was only used four times and terminated his contract in November 2015. He returned to Gaz Metan in early 2016 and rose again with the club at the end of the 2015/16 season .
