Raffaele Pellecchia

Raffaele Pellecchia (born February 11, 1909 in Picarelli , Avellino province , Italy , † May 3, 1977 ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sorrento .

Life

Raffaele Pellecchia received on 25 July 1932, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 2, 1960, Pope John XXIII appointed him . as titular bishop of Amisus and auxiliary bishop in Alife . The secretary of the Consistorial Congregation , Cardinal Marcello Mimmi , donated him episcopal ordination on March 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Avellino , Gioacchino Pedicini , and the Bishop of Ariano , Pasquale Venezia .

John XXIII appointed him on September 1, 1961 Bishop of Alife. On March 19, 1967, Pope Paul VI appointed him . Titular Archbishop of Arpi and Coadjutor Archbishop of Sorrento. Pellecchia was also appointed Bishop of Castellammare di Stabia on June 28, 1971 . On July 30, 1972 Raffaele Pellecchia succeeded the late Carlo Serena as Archbishop of Sorrento.

Raffaele Pellecchia attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
