Rafik Halliche ( Arabic رفيق حليش, DMG Rafīq Ḥallīš ; * September 2, 1986 in Algiers ) is an Algerian football player .

Career

In clubs

Halliche began his professional career with the Algerian first division club NA Hussein Dey before moving to Europe in January 2008 .

The central defender signed a contract with Benfica Lisbon , from which he was then awarded to Nacional Funchal . The central defender made his debut in the top Portuguese division on March 30, 2008 against União Leiria . The game ended 2-0. 2008/09 he came on 15 missions at Nacional, where the club was able to qualify for the Europa League . The Algerian made his debut at European club level in the following season on August 27, 2009 in the second leg of the qualifying for the Europa League against Zenit St. Petersburg . He was substituted on for Nuno Pinto at halftime. He also played in five group games and scored one goal against Werder Bremen . In the championship, the club was seventh.

On August 23, 2010 Halliche moved to Fulham FC for 2.5 million euros . Here he played for two years and then went back to Portugal and joined the Académica de Coimbra . From 2014 to 2017 he was active for Qatar SC . This was followed by an engagement at GD Estoril Praia and he is currently under contract with Moreirense FC .

In the national team

He took part in the 2010 Africa Cup in Angola . The center-back played in all three group matches and scored one goal in the game against Mali . Algeria failed in the semi-finals against eventual winners Egypt . Halliche was sent off in the 4-0 defeat with a yellow-red card.

He was also in the Algerian squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa , where he played all three games before he had to return home with his team as bottom of the table.

In 2019 he won the African Championship with the team , where he was used in a group game.
