Rahel Estermann

Rahel Estermann (* 1987 ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ). She has been a member of the Lucerne Cantonal Council since September 2018 .

biography

Rahel Estermann grew up on a farm in Hildisrieden . During her studies she moved to the city ​​of Lucerne . After completing a bachelor's degree in political science and sociology at the University of Lucerne and a master's degree in sociology and media studies at the University of Basel , she started working as a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the project Facing Big Data : Methods and skills needed for a 21st century sociology .

Estermann plays handball and is the J + S coach of the Handball Emmen club .

Rahel Estermann has been a board member of the Green Canton of Lucerne since 2013. In September 2018 she moved up to replace the resigned Ali Celik in the Lucerne Cantonal Council . She was re-elected in March 2019. Estermann has been a member of the Cantonal Commission for Education and Culture (SFBC) since 2018, and has been its President since 2019.

In the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2019 , she ran for the National Council.

Rahel Estermann's brother Markus Estermann ran for 2019 on the CVP list for the Lucerne Cantonal Council .
