Rahul Rawail ( Hindi राहुल रवैल Rāhul Ravail ; born April 7, 1951 in Bombay ) is an Indian film director of Hindi films .

Life

Rahul Rawail was born in Bombay as the son of director Harnam Singh Rawail . He was Rishi Kapoor's classmate , which enabled him to begin his career in the Hindi film industry as an assistant to Raj Kapoor . He was involved in the film productions Kal Aaj Aur Kal (1971), Mera Naam Joker (1972) and Bobby (1973), among others . After seven years at Kapoor, Rahul Rawail began directing Love Story ; a production by Rajendra Kumar , with which he wanted to launch his son Kumar Gaurav as a performer, but which was long delayed and finally did not appear under Rawail's name.

He wrote the screenplay for Deedar-e-Yaar (1982), the last film made under his father's direction. He became one of the biggest flops in Hindi films of the 1980s and HS Rawail only appeared as a producer of films for Rahul Rawail. He directed the acting debuts of Dharmendra's son Sunny Deol ( Betaab , 1983) and Kajol ( Bekhudi , 1992).

In 2010 Rawail opened his own drama school ( StellAdler - Studio Of Acting), which teaches according to the principles of method acting .
