With his 13th Bundesliga appearance on December 15, 1979, a 0-1 away defeat at Fortuna Düsseldorf, his missions in the 1979/80 season ended. With Gregor Grillemeier and Seliger he put the attackers of the MSV in this round; Attacking efforts were reinforced by attacking midfielders Thomas Kempe and Norbert Fruck . Coach Heinz Höher was replaced by Friedhelm Wenzlaff on February 11, 1980 , and the MSV finished in 14th place at the end of the round. When Hiegemann signed with MSV in 1979, three players from the professional field came with Paul Steiner (SV Waldhof), Paul Dörflinger (SC Freiburg) and Hans-Dieter Mirnegg (VÖEST Linz) and, in addition to Hiegemann, the other amateur talents Thomas Kempe (TV Voerde), Frank Saborowski (VfB Lohberg) and Franz-Josef Steininger (Hamborn 07) on the "Zebras".

In his second Bundesliga season 1980/81 Hiegemann only came to nine missions. In the attack, the MSV mostly operated with Rudolf Gores , Seliger, Steininger and Grillemeier. The last time the attacker from VfB Homberg came on 28 March 1981 in a 1: 4 away defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach as a substitute in the 86th minute for Fruck.
