Rainald II (Clermont)

Rainald II of Clermont (French: Renaud II. De Clermont ) (1099-1152 attested; † before 1162) was 1101 or 1103 Count of Clermont-en-Beauvaisis , after he had participated in the First Crusade from 1099 . He was the son of Hugo (Hugues) of Clermont, called Hugo of Mouchy, who had been lord of Creil since 1067 , and Margaret (Marguerite) of Montdidier .

Rainald married Countess Adelheid (Adélaide) of Vermandois and Valois from the house of the Carolingians († September 28, 1120/1124), the widow of Hugo of France , a younger brother of King Philip I , to whom she was the first to marry in 1103 Counties of Vermandois and Valois, and who died on the Crusade of 1101 ; through this marriage he was the stepfather of the future French regent (1147–1149) Rudolf von Vermandois .
