Rainald Steck

Rainald Steck (born September 24, 1945 in Ballenstedt ) is a German diplomat .

Life

From 1964 to 1970 Rainald Steck studied Romance studies , history and politics at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , graduating with a state examination . In 1973 he was with a thesis on Romain Rolland Dr. phil. PhD . In 1972 he joined the foreign service . From 1977 to 1985 Rainald Steck was among other things permanent representative of the ambassador in Khartoum and Lusaka . From 1985 to 1990 he headed the foreign affairs department at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Brühl (Rhineland) and was training manager for the senior foreign service. From 1990 to 1992 Rainald Steck was head of department in the Senate Chancellery and head of the protocol of the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . He then acted as ambassador to Togo, Senegal and Afghanistan. From 2006 to 2010 he was chief of protocol at the Foreign Office in Berlin .
