Rainer Büsching

Rainer Büsching (born August 4, 1943 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German opera singer ( bass ).

Life

He grew up in Halle (Saale) and after completing his professional training as an optician, he studied singing at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music in Leipzig. From 1973 to 1985 the bass player was engaged at the Landestheater Dessau . Since the reopening of the Dresden Semperoper on February 13, 1985, he has been a long-time member of the soloist ensemble.

In the course of his career he worked with the conductors Wolfgang Rennert , Wolf-Dieter Hauschild , Sir Colin Davis , Fabio Luisi and the directors Peter Konwitschny , Joachim Herz , Harry Kupfer , Christine Mielitz and Wolfgang Wagner .

His most important roles include Sarastro ( The Magic Flute ), Publius ( La clemenza di Tito ), Daland ( The Flying Dutchman ), Landgraf ( Tannhäuser ), King Heinrich ( Lohengrin ), Alcindoro ( La Bohème ), Pogner ( The Mastersingers of Nuremberg ) and Montano ( Otello ).

Guest performances have taken him to the Komische Oper Berlin , the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and the Salzburg Festival . In addition, he made radio and television recordings and gave guest appearances abroad. He was awarded the title of chamber singer .
