Rainer Herberger

Rainer Herberger (born July 10, 1939 in Frankenberg / Sa .; † June 3, 2013 in Leipzig ) was a German music teacher .

Life

Rainer Herberger attended elementary school and then high school in Frankenberg / Sa. After graduating from high school in 1957, he studied music education and German at the Philosophical Faculty of the Karl Marx University in Leipzig (KMU). With the state examination in 1962 for teaching at the ten-class polytechnic high schools , he began his work as a music and German teacher and as a choir director at Oberschule III in Annaberg-Buchholz . With the state examination (external) in 1962, the teaching qualification for music education at the 12-class high schools was expanded. In 1965, Rainer Herberger began working as a research assistant at the Institute for Musicology in the Philological Faculty at KMU Leipzig. The appointment as a university lecturer in 1980 was followed on September 1, 1988 by the appointment as full professor for theory and methodology of music education at the cultural and art studies section of the KMU Leipzig.

After the return of the University of Leipzig to the classical structure with faculties and institutes at the end of 1993, Rainer Herberger taught until 1999 as a professor for theory and methodology of music education at the Institute for Music Education at the Faculty of History, Art and Oriental Studies. His university teaching activities were supplemented by study and lecture trips to Switzerland (1988) and the United States of America (1996). When he was transferred to the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig , from 1999 to 2001 he was head of the school music department . The dismissal on August 31, 2001 took place at his own request with the transfer to early retirement.

Rainer Herberger died on June 3, 2013 after a long illness at the age of 73 in Leipzig.

Qualifications

  • Promotion A to Dr. phil. on March 25, 1970 at the Cultural Studies and German Studies Section of the KMU Leipzig.
  • Facultas Docendi on April 1, 1978 for the field of theory and methodology of music education.
  • Doctorate B to Dr. sc. paed. on July 4, 1979 by decision of the Senate of the KMU Leipzig.
  • Conversion of the graduation to Dr. paed. habil. by the Senate of the University of Leipzig with a certificate dated April 1, 1991.
