Rainer Jork

Rainer Jork (born March 16, 1940 in Dresden ; † July 23, 2020 in Radebeul ) was a German politician ( CDU ). In 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR and then from 1990 to 2002 a member of the German Bundestag .

Life

Jork left school with the secondary school leaving certificate and made up his Abitur at the evening school in Dresden. He attended a general vocational school, where he graduated as a precision mechanic. He studied mechanical engineering and control engineering at the Technical University of Dresden , where he obtained his diploma in 1965. In 1974 he received his doctorate from the Technical University of Ilmenau . He worked for a total of 20 years in the field of project planning for automation systems and was a part-time vocational school teacher from 1965 to 1984. From 1976 to 1990 he worked as a lecturer at the Technical University of Dresden. From 1985 to 1990 he was a lecturer in automation technology at the “Rudolf Diesel” engineering school in Meißen . In his career he brought out several specialist books and was also able to have several inventions patented.

Jork joined the Eastern CDU in 1971 and has been chairman of the CDU in Radebeul since February 1990 . From March 18 until its dissolution on October 2, 1990, he was a member of the freely elected People's Chamber of the GDR, and from reunification until 2002 a member of the German Bundestag.
