Rainer Kaul

Rainer Kaul (born January 6, 1952 in Linkenbach ) is a German SPD politician . From 1993 to 2017 he was District Administrator of the district Neuwied .

Life

From 1970 to 1974, Rainer Kaul completed an apprenticeship as a civil servant in the Neuwied district administration, which he graduated from the Koblenz administrative school with a degree in administrative management. From 1975 to 1979, while working, he then attended the Administration and Business Academy in Koblenz for further training to become an Administrative Business Economist (VWA) .

From 1974 to 1989 Rainer Kaul was an administrative officer at the Neuwied district administration, from 1981 to 1989 as head of the accounting and community auditing office. In 1989, Kaul became the finance and energy officer of the Rhineland-Palatinate Association of Municipalities and Cities, with the rank of administrative director.

Rainer Kaul is married, has two grown children and is a Rotarian member .

Political offices

Rainer Kaul has been a member of the SPD since 1969, which he represented for almost two decades in the Linkenbach municipal council and in the Puderbach municipal council. From 1984 to 1989 he was chairman of the local SPD association in Puderbach .

When Ludwig Eich was elected a member of the German Bundestag in December 1990 and resigned his previous mandate as a member of the Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate, Kaul followed him in January 1991 in the Landtag mandate. In January 1992 Kaul became the first councilor of the Neuwied district council.

On December 8, 1993, Rainer Kaul was appointed district administrator of the Neuwied district and was confirmed in office on June 10, 2001 by direct election with 60.1% of the votes. On June 7, 2009, he was elected for a further eight years with 62.2% of the votes cast.

At the end of 2017, he handed over the office to Achim Hallerbach and retired.

Promotion of culture in the district

The district administrator regularly took over the patronage of the Carl-Loewe-Musiktage in Unkel .
