Rainer Schwarz (director)
Rainer Schwarz (born December 6, 1952 in Potsdam ; † November 16, 2013 ) was a German theater and radio play director.
Live and act
Rainer Schwarz studied biochemistry at the Martin Luther University Halle and later directing at the Institute for Drama Directing in Berlin. From 1976 on he worked as a director and author for radio, for records and dubbing, and as a theater director on the stages of the city of Magdeburg. 13 productions of contemporary and classical pieces, including a world premiere by Peter Hacks with “Musen” in 1983 , more than 70 radio plays and features were created in his artistic creative period. He was a lecturer in acting theory and practice at the “Hans Otto” theater school in Leipzig, Studio Magdeburg and the “Konrad Wolf” film school in Potsdam-Babelsberg. He worked as a freelance writer and director for ten years before taking on project management for "Weimar 1999 European City of Culture". In autumn 1999 he was appointed festival manager and managing director of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg GmbH.
