Bert Koß

Bert Koß (born December 9, 1957 in Poessneck ) is a German writer , dramaturge and radio play author .

Life

Koß grew up in East Berlin and did an apprenticeship as a construction worker with a high school diploma from 1974 to 1977. After military service from 1977 to 1980, he studied theater studies from 1980 to 1984 with Ernst Schumacher , Rudolf Münz and Joachim Fiebach at the Humboldt University of Berlin and graduated in 1985 with a diploma. His seminar group included Carena Schlewitt and Stephan Göritz . From 1984 to 1988 he worked as a dramaturge at the Neubrandenburg puppet theater. Between 1988 and 1993 he worked as a freelance author in Berlin and Mecklenburg. From 1993 to 1996 he was dramaturge at the Staatstheater Cottbus and from 1996 to 1998 dramaturge at the Volkstheater Rostock. Since 1998 Koß has been living as a freelance author with his family in Mecklenburg. His son Max Koss (* 1982) is an art historian and his daughter Lucie Thiede (* 1991) is an actress. The writer Karl Koß (writer) is his uncle. In 2018 he won a Grimme Prize for his work on the screenplay for Zuckersand .
