Rainer Waltert

Rainer Waltert (born June 9, 1940 in Paderborn ) is a former German football referee .

Career

Waltert whistled for SV Rot-Weiß Alfen from Borchen in the Paderborn district . From 1973 to 1981 he headed 62 games in the Bundesliga . He had his first assignment on August 22, 1973 in the game Fortuna Cologne against Fortuna Düsseldorf . On June 9, 1979 Waltert was the referee of the game between Hamburger SV and FC Bayern Munich . The Hamburg team was already established as the German champions. After the end of the game, numerous spectators streamed from the west curve onto the field. Numerous spectators suffered broken bones , bruises and bleeding wounds. Referee Waltert whistled off the game earlier so that the teams could escape into the dressing rooms. There are also 77 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga between 1974 and 1985 and 16 games in the DFB Cup . On June 30, 1985, Rainer Waltert was still in charge of the final of the German women's championship between KBC Duisburg and FC Bayern Munich .
