Rainer Zoll

Rainer Zoll (born May 23, 1934 in Alsfeld ; † May 2, 2010 in Bremen ) was a German sociologist specializing in trade union sociology .

Life

As the son of music teacher Paul Zoll , Zoll studied sociology , philosophy and literary studies with Adorno and Horkheimer, among others . During his studies, he was an international advisor for the Socialist German Student Union (SDS) . He was a freelance journalist, translator and press spokesman for IG Metall until 1974 . In 1974 he became professor for the theory and history of trade unions at the University of Bremen .
