The Bilmak Raion (Ukrainian Більмацький район / Bilmazkyj rajon ; Russian Бильмакский район / Bilmakski rajon ) is an administrative unit in the Zaporizhia Oblast in southeastern Ukraine . The center of the raion is the urban-type settlement of Bilmak .
geography
The Rajon is located in the east of the Zaporizhia Oblast , it borders in the north on a short section with the Raion Huljajpole , in the northeast on the Rajon Rosivka , in the east on the Rajon Nikolske (in Donetsk Oblast ), in the south on the Rajon Berdyansk , im To the southwest to the Chernihivka district and to the northwest to the Polohy district . The Berda , the Kamjanka (Кам'янка), the Hajtschul (Гайчул) and the Sucha Kinska (Суха Кінська) flow through the Rajon , the area is hilly with altitudes between 120 and 280 meters (highest elevation 284 meters) and is surrounded by the Azov highlands shaped.
history
The Rajon originated in 1923 and was first called Rajon Zarekostjantyniwka 1932 he joined the newly created Dnipropetrovsk Oblast , 1935, the Rajonzentrum after Kujbyschewe (now Bilmak) was transferred and the Rajonsname was on Rajon Kujbyschewe (Ukrainian Куйбишевський район / Kujbyschewskyj rayon ). In 1939 the Rajon came to the newly created Zaporizhia Oblast . After the occupation by German troops, the Rajonsgebiet was incorporated into the Reichskommissariat Ukraine in 1942 and was located here in the general district of Dnepropetrovsk , Pologi district . After the end of the Second World War it came back to the Soviet Union / Ukrainian SSR , since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine. On June 26, 1992, the Rosivka Raion was spun off from the Rajon area and became an independent Raion; in the course of the decommunization of Ukraine, the Raion was renamed to Bilmak Raion on May 12, 2016 analogous to the Rajon Center .
