Rako (born December 17, 1983 in Berlin ; bourgeois Tolga Görmemiş ) is a German rapper from Berlin-Steglitz .

Life

Rako, who has German and Turkish ancestors, grew up in Lankwitz in the south of Berlin. At the age of twelve, Rako started graffiti , mostly spraying his initials MMG . This was followed two years later by several court hearings with allegations of vandalism , which resulted in several stays in detention and in institutions . During this time he took on his current stage name Rako . He got into rapping, after which he stopped working as a sprayer. As a rapper, Rako mainly focused on freestyle. In a short time he made a name for himself in the Berlin hip-hop scene .

In 2000, Rako recorded the first tracks at home with some companions. Two years later, Rako came into contact with the Berlin rapper MC Bogy , with whom he recorded some songs together. MC Bogy then offered Rako the opportunity to release a solo album on the Bassboxxx label . During the recording of Rako's debut album, he continued to perform in numerous freestyle battles all over Germany. He won the vice-title in Berlin several times.

In 2004, Rako's debut album Mentaler Kriegsstaat was finally released on the record label Bassboxxx . A short time later he became a member of the group 41 Beatfanatika , which mostly produced Rako's album. After that, he mainly drew attention to himself with features and contributions to samplers .

In 2006, appeared together with 41 Beatfanatika the mixtape overdose . In the same year Rako released the mixtape Southside Story together with his label partner Kraze . Two years later, the 41 Beatfanatika album Das Album was released in April 2008 . at bass draft. The second album Panzersound , announced a few years earlier, was released again on April 29, 2009 via Bassboxxx . A video about Asphaltrap was published for this purpose. Then Rako separated from 41 Beatfanatika .

On March 5, 2010, Rako's third solo album, Hartes Business, was released on the record label Endbest . A video was released for the title This Song . A few months later he released the collaborative album We bring the drama with Blokkmonsta . Shortly afterwards it was announced that Rako was moving to the Hirntot Records label .

On February 4, 2011, Rako released the compilation Söldner - Gastparts Vol. 1 , which contained 16 songs that appeared on recordings by other artists and had participation by Rako. A posse track with 31 other rappers was also released on it.

Post Mortem was self-distributed in May 2011 . The sound carrier was limited to 250 copies.
